Where should I start?
If you are discovering the Christian faith, begin with Friday Night Preaching, a Bible study, or a conversation with Reverend Father Neil Makko. Sunday Divine Liturgy is not the usual first step. You may come on Sunday to observe if you wish; please do not receive the Eucharist.
Are ministries only for people who are new to the faith?
No. Friday Night Preaching and Bible studies are for everyone — seekers, visiting Christians, and members. They are a shared part of church life, not a separate track for newcomers.
Do I need to be Assyrian?
No. People of every cultural background are welcome to attend respectfully and to take part in ministries.
Is everything in English?
Yes. Saints Peter and Paul is an English-speaking church. Some ancient liturgical words and chants may also be heard in the Liturgy.
What should I wear?
Formal dress is encouraged but not required. Please wear modest clothing suitable for worship: keep shoulders and knees covered. Women cover their heads during worship and are encouraged to bring a simple scarf; men pray with their heads uncovered.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Families are welcome at ministries and on Sunday. Sunday School is available at 8:30 am for children aged four to seven. Contact the church for current term arrangements.
I have been invited to a baptism or wedding. What should I know?
Arrive a little early, dress modestly for worship, and follow the congregation or observe quietly. You do not need to come back every Sunday to be a respectful guest. You are also welcome at Friday Night Preaching and Bible studies. Contact the office if you need times, parking, or accessibility details.
May I receive the Eucharist?
The Eucharist is for Christians baptised in an apostolic Church — Orthodox or Catholic — in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, after speaking with the priest. If that is not your situation, you are welcome to observe the Liturgy; please remain in place and do not come forward to receive.
Can I come to Sunday Liturgy if I am not baptised, or was not baptised in an apostolic Church?
Yes, you may come and observe. Please do not receive the Eucharist. For most people in that situation, a ministry gathering or a conversation with Father Neil is a better first introduction than Sunday Liturgy.
Will I know what to do?
You are not expected to know the prayers or movements. Follow the congregation if comfortable, or observe quietly.
Can I speak with the priest?
Yes. Contact the office to arrange a conversation with Reverend Father Neil Makko — especially if you are discovering the faith, considering the Eucharist, or have been invited to a baptism or wedding.
